This is my formal apology to every person I told almond milk was better than regular milk. I was wrong.

2017 me would be reading this post absolutely fuming, because OF COURSE almond milk has more vitamin D and calcium than regular cow’s milk….

And it’s healthier, because dairy causes mucous buildup in the gut, and causes acne…

Or so I thought.

My wellness journey has come with a LOT of unlearning.

Unlearning the plant-based milk piece was one that I fought pretty hard for a while, because I had it engrained to my very core that drinking milk from an actual animal was basically poison.

There’s a lot of confusing information out there on animal products, and the big food industries that are pumping out documentaries and propaganda against high-quality dairy are making even harder to decipher what’s true and what isn’t.

I was the poster-girl for plant based milks. I tried them all, I made them at home, and I tried to get my friends and family to like them as much as I did.

I sincerely apologize to everyone who knew me at that time 😅.

When I reintroduced milk and after a while, my skin started to heal instead of getting worse, I knew it was time to rethink some things.

So yeah, 2017 me would be absolutely appalled at my nightly glass of raw, whole milk right before bed, but I’m absolutely never going back.
