Should You Cook On Teflon Pans?

NO!!!! No, you really shouldn’t.

Thankfully so many of the other common endocrine/hormonal disrupting chemicals have been exposed more and more lately, including: scented candles, laundry detergent, synthetic fragrance anything, sunscreen, cleaning chemicals, EMFs, and more.

But there seems to be a lack of focus on what we cook our food IN and ON.

Swapping out your xenoestrogenic pans (if you haven’t already) is really freaking important.

Teflon is the coating on pans that makes them non-stick. Teflon is the brand name for Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), the chemical used to create non-stick pans.

PTFE and another man-made chemical, Perfluorooctanoic acid (aka PFOA) also used in these pans, have been linked with neuro-toxic effects and health risks such as Alzheimers, dementia, and brain cancers, as well as being known xenoestrogens

"Xenoestrogens are a sub-category of the endocrine disruptor group that specifically have estrogen-like effects." ... "When xenoestrogens enter the body they increase the total amount of estrogen resulting in a phenomenon called, estrogen dominance."

- Women in Balance Institute

In a world where most women (AND men) are already battling estrogen dominance and there’s an increase in estrogen-dominance diseases, more synthetic estrogen is the LAST THING WE NEED.

My pro tip: go to Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or Ross. They have great deals on stainless steel and ceramic pans, both in sets and sold separately.

ALSO - a few other brands I recommend are Xtrema, Ozeri, or Zwilling for ceramic cookware.

Another thing that I would recommend you stop doing immediately is storing and microwaving food in plastic, but ESPECIALLY microwaving. Or microwaving at all 🙃 that’s a post for another time!
